Acknowledgement
After many years of searching and trying out, we – the family Menne & Daughters – that are father Friedhelm, mother Ulrike and the three daughters Simone, Raphaela and Fabienne – succeeded in breeding a kind of pigeons that is not only able to achieve excellent results on races above 1.000 km. Many fanciers confirm that they were able to do a big step forwards (some to victory) by adding pigeons of Menne & Daughters.
We want to say “Thank you!” to all fanciers, who supplied our loft with real top-pigeons. We are very appreciative for many years of friendship with the family of Hans Eijerkamp NL, where Evert-Jan Eijerkamp helped us with breedings of excellent pigeons.
Furthermore we want to thank our friend Herbert Gross, who gave us his 1. national and 2. international Bordeaux as a gift.
Creating a family tree and winners
As known, our pigeon-tree was created with breedings of real AS-pigeons of the family of Hans Eijerkamp & Sons. Family tree father No. 1 became NL86-319126, a grandson of ‘888’, who came to our loft by buying our first furniture at Fam. H. Eijerkamp. His breedings let us, who at that time just started with pigeon-sport, became known very soon. He bred many AS-pigeons in every generation and not only at our loft.
His son 0355-92-429, 1. national DAX and 1. AS-cock from Germany 1996 at Martin Lobs, bred himself in our pigeon-existence.
With 1 hour lead ‘Nachtflieger’ 05583-97-287 won Bordeaux 1998 as a youngster. We bred him from a son of ‘Super 137’, inbreeding of ‘888’ x NL89-2555035 Vip from Eijerkamp.
In 2001 Menne & Daughters shined with ‘Serena’ 0448-98-571, 1. national and 1. international Perpignan. Today ‘Serena’ breeds excellently in Japan. She is bred from ‘Friedhelm’ (van Wanroy) x ‘Ulrike’ (Eijerkamp-Muller and ‘Olympik 06’) from Fam. Eijerkamp.
‘Paula’ 05583-97-260, PRIMUS-INTER-PARES 2004 and 4. international AS-pigeon (2. AS-hen) Cureghem-Centre over 4 years Barcelona, was bred from NL96-1729467, a J. Aarden from Fam. Eijerkamp, x 05583-92-186 (4. AS-hen and granddaughter ‘NL 126’). 5 days before putting in for Barcelona 2005 ‘Paula’ was injured hardly by a diurnal bird of prey. Because of that she was no longer able to defend her title, but thank God “We still have her!”.
Like all fanciers we were looking for new possibilities of combination for many years, too. So our oldest daughter Simone found a beautiful pigeon at the point of sale from Emiel Denys at the trade fair in Dortmund in 1998. Simone liked this pigeon most and she wanted us to buy this one. You can imagine that it was not easy for us – who had three little children, who had different wants at this trade fair – to pay the wanted price for this pigeon at that time. Because Emiel Denys was very enthusiastic about our daughters’ interests in and dealing with the pigeons, Simone was able to buy the pigeon Belg.96-3306043 for half of the original prize. This one became a couple with a son of ‘429’, which bred us 4 fantastic pigeons. Unfortunately this beautiful hen gave us the slip from our loft in her third year.
2005 her daughter ‘Smaragd’ 0448-98-543 reached the top of the Barcelona-pigeons, PRIMUS-INTER-PARES 2005 and best international AS-hen of Barcelona-races 2001-2002-2003-2004+2005 Cureghem-Centre.
We bought a daughter of ‘Pantani’, 1. national and 4. international Bordeaux 1998, at the loft of our pigeon-friends Bernd und Werner Kreuer. This hen 08717-99-895 was mated to a son of ‘429’ x ‘Black Babe’. This couple bred 05583-01-552, 1. national and 5. international Montauban 2002. After his victory ‘Monti’ followed ‘Serena’ into the land of the rising sun.
At the auction of Co van Dijk Simone found a daughter of ‘De La Sou’, a top racing-pigeon at the loft of Co van Dijk and later a fantastic breeding-cock at the champion Philip Geerdink NL. This hen NL98-9843954 was mated to a son of our ‘Paula’ and bred our unforgettable ‘Carolina’. ‘Carolina’ won 1. national and 1. international Bergerac in 2003 and gave us our 2. international victory.
‘Black Power’, whose father was bred from the lines of family tree father ‘NL 126’ x ‘Black Babe’ from Fam. Eijerkamp, helped us to achieve our 5. national victory with his winning in 2004 and 2. international Euregio from Perpignan.
With our hen 05583-03-832, a daughter to ‘Bordeaux’ (Herbert Gross) x NL01-1416237 (‘Red Rising Sun’, 1. national DAX, x ‘Katja’, 1. national Bergerac) from Fam. Eijerkamp, and our hen 05583-01-519, 2. AS-hen in 2004 and 4. AS-hen on national races in Germany in 2005, bred from NL99-1869655 ‘Inteelt Blackie’ (Fam. Eijerkamp) x 0448-97-399 (daughter to AS-cock ‘429’), we finished the racing season 2005 with 1. and 2. prize in area III and 2. and 4. international Euregio from Perpignan.
In 2006 our ‘Christine’, a daughter to ‘Bordeaux’ (1. national and 2. international Bordeaux 2000) x ‘Carolina’ (1. national and 1. international Bergerac 2003), won 1. international PAU against 1.348 hens and 3. international PAU against 6.553 pigeons and 2. national.
The year 2007 let us became famous to fanciers all over the world with reaching the crown of pigeon-races, winning international Barcelona. ‘Susi’ did this great job. She won the 1. international Barcelona against 25.716 pigeons from 11 countries and 1. national at 5.41 o’clock in the early morning. ‘Susi’ is a granddaughter to ‘Serena’ (1. international and 1. national Perpignan 2001) and both won their title with the same speed (1.462,55 m / sec.). After her victory she followed ‘Serena’ and ‘Monti’ to Japan.
Also breedings of superstar ‘Olympik 06’ reached excellent results.

Our 2. AS-hen ‘W791’, for example 6. national Barcelona 2005 and 6. AS-hen on the international races, is bred from the lines of our ‘Nachtflieger 287’ + 2 x his sister, like also AS-cock ‘429’ x daughter ‘Black Giant’.
Our 3. AS-hen ‘W866’ and 12. AS-hen on the international races is bred from grandson ‘Golden Breeder’ (Eijerkamp-Muller) x mother ‘Monti’ (1. national Montauban).
Last but not least our AS-cock ‘796’ and 13. AS-cock of the international races is bred from the lines of Eijerkamp-Muller ‘Golden Breeder’ x the line Thomas Peeters & Sons.
Successes with original pigeons of Menne & Daughters
A son of ‘NL 126’ became 1. AS-cock of the RV Hamburg 1889 at the loft of Klaus Wegner in 1991 and was 21. AS-cock at the national level.
Another son of ‘NL 126’ won the 1. national DAX and became 1. AS-cock of the international races at Martin Lobs in 1996.
The golden Barcelona pigeon in 2001 became a son of ‘NL 126’ at the lofts of SG Bauhaus-Devers.
A son of the excellent breeding-hen NL00-2119272, bought at Martha van Geel, for example won the 1. prize in sector III PAU in 2003 at the loft of our friends Renate and Karl-Wilhelm Jeske, who unfortunately passed away in 2006, and reached top results in three years. In 2005 this cock went on the races from Pau, DAX and Perpignan.
Our fancier-friends Franz and Martin Steffl bought their first Menne & Daughters’-pigeons for long distance races in 2005, for example grandchildren of ‘Bordeaux’ x ‘Carolina’. They were able to place these pigeons in the absolute top of the RV-youngsters directly in the same year.
Fritz and Hanne Dickmann do excellently in the RV Westliches Ruhrgebiet and RV Dinslaken with 1. prizes and 1. championships during the last few years. They did also won the 1. sector from Marseille (line ‘429’) on the long distance races. In 2005 they won for example the 5. sector from Marseille and they had the 1. pigeon over a distance above 900 km, bred from their area-winner x daughter of ‘Nachtflieger’. They hand in excellent results in their RV every year. Their best breeding-cock is a son of ‘NL 126’ x Vip ‘035’ (among other things mother of ‘Nachtflieger’). In 2007 a granddaughter to our ‘Nachtflieger’ won the 8. international Barcelona against 6.807 hens and 27. international Barcelona against 25.716 pigeons and the 2. sector III.
Successes with children and grandchildren
The promotion side of 2005 Wolfgang Emser began a personal new start in 2003 and did already won the 1. area twice in 2004 and 2005. 2005 Wolfgang Emser became 4. national long distance champion and had the 1. AS-hen (line ‘429’ x ‘Black Babe’) from Germany on the national races. 90 % of his success-pigeons have blood from the lofts of Menne & Daughters. In 2006 he became 1. international champion on long distance races from Germany and had the 1. international AS-hen from Germany. His family tree father is a son of ‘429’.
Sjaak Buwalda NL is also very successful with top-prizes with the line of our ‘Nachtflieger’. 8 out of his 10 best pigeons were always bred from our lines. In 2006 Sjaak won the 1. national Ruffec against 3.565 pigeons.
At the loft of Armin Schmidt our 05583-98-1265, bred from ‘429’ x ‘343’ (son x daughter ‘NL 126’), crystallized himself to be the family tree breeding-cock. Many of his children did excellently on international races.
In 2005 Wolfgang Otto and Susi Rösgen won medals, one 1. prize and high prize-percentages in races above 750 km. In 2004 they became 2. national world-champion of the magazine “Rauschende Schwingen”. They finished their racing-season 2005 with top results with our children and grandchildren from the difficult youngster-race from Orleans (530 km).
Furthermore fanciers from China, Tenerife, as far as fanciers from Bulgaria and Rumania won first prizes and did excellently in the top with children and grandchildren of our line.
For example Horst Trazewitsch from Rumania won 1. national above 750 km twice (line Eijerkamp-Muller).
Management and supporting
All of our pigeons are raced from nest. Our youngsters do the race from Orleans (nearly 540 km) if possible. As yearlings they do two races above 900 km for each, for example Brive, Cognac or Bergerac.
At the age of two years they do two or three races from PAU, DAX, Marseille or Perpignan. Since the age of three all pigeons are raced from Barcelona (1.201 km) and Perpignan (1.044 km).
At the end of March / in the beginning of April all racing-pigeons are mated up until the end of the racing-season.
Every pigeon does its training-race once a week, apart from hens, which have to lay their eggs, stay at home. The pigeons are also trained at home for at least one hour twice a day.
We prefer our cocks and hens to have 4-6 days old children when preparing them for international races.
We do only feed the very best food for pigeons, an own mixture ‘Non-Stop with corn / maize’ and ‘Non-Stop without corn / maize’, ‘Aktiv-Korn’ and ‘Immun-Korn’ from the company Ovator.
We do also use enlargement-feed and oils as far as ‘Metro’ for rinsing out the head.
At the end something to think about
“A good breeding-loft is no unnecessary luxury! An AS has to be born! You can train a team to be good! But the probability that somebody is able to succeed in this can only be given with excellent and the very best pigeons in the initial position! The more you are near a winner, the more winners are embodied in the genes, the more it will be possible for somebody to succeed!”
